Had an amazing 2 days in Manchester under the watchful eye of Brett Harkness.
I wanted to progress to the next level with my photography. Its very easy to get into a comfort zone and I wanted to push myself personally and take my photography up a notch. With so much to think about it’s difficult to focus so I thought it was about time to called upon some outside help from Brett Harkness.
The two days were awesome. We spent 1/2 day doing a quick lifestyle shoot with the Quadra (you can see these images below) and then went through the workflow production in the afternoon. The next day was spent focusing on the business and how to streamline it and get ready for 2011. We looked at pricing, products and marketing, all of which was very useful and I’ve already started planting the seeds in my local community.
I would thoroughly recommend a 1-1 day with Brett, his knowledge and understanding of the industry is boundless and he is very good at stepping into ‘ones’ shoes and putting a game plan together in this very competitive market.
Ok, so what do I do with this new found knowledge and major motivational kick up the ass? Well I have the next 6 months outlined from a media and marketing perspective. I have also finalised several more photo shoots that I will be publishing on here over the next few weeks. Keep coming back as I feel that the next post shows me taking my photography to the next level, be interested to get some feedback on the images.
Finally, thanks to Brett and Kristie for opening up their minds and knowledge. It was a fantastic 2 days and a real turning point in the development of my photographic career.
