Had a very cool portrait photo shoot with Jess in Cambridge.
I had a few locations in mind for the shoot with Jess, however she mentioned an old tucked away garage behind East Road. The garage doors should have been covered in graffiti and seemed like a perfect location. However they had just had a fresh lick of paint except one door. So we focused on that one and made the most of the puddles from the recent downpour.
I took along my old Raleigh Super Burner BMX as a prop.
Just round the corner was our next location, and old church with sky blue trim. Jess chose a red polka dot dress for this shoot and she looked fantastic again the blue doors and red brickwork.
After this she really did think I lost the plot as we when into a communal garden. I asked her to sit in a wheelbarrow and pose with a pink spade. Thanks Jess for putting up with my wayward imagination, some thing don’t transpose well into reality. The shots were a little bizarre bt allowed me to nail some lighting gtechniques. The light burst in the background is a 550 speedlite on full power. Foreground light was quadra with 21cm reflector on 1/4 power.
Finally we went to a cool graffiti wall I’d had my eye on for a few years. I used a 30 deg grid on the Quadra to get this shot to isolate Jess from the background.
