Glass Solutions is part of Blacktrace Holdings, a long-term client I’ve been lucky enough to work with over the last 3 years.
When I learnt that they manufacture their glass laboratory products in-house I couldn’t wait for an opportunity to visit. Having a background in Mechanical Engineering, I still love a chance to walk back into a facility that looks, sounds and smells of engineering. These guys are true craftsmen, seeing firsthand large, highly sophisticated custom made glassware being blown into shape whilst turning it on lathes. It was fascinating.
As well as geeking out, seeing jacketed reactors and condensers made, I was there to photograph part of the magic that happens there at Glass Solutions. Flames shooting 6 feet high it was such a great experience.
