How lucky am I …?
I’ve always wanted to fly a plane and guess what? Dee only went and got me a flying lesson!
Duxford is home to the Imperial War Museum, we actually lived in the village for 12 months in 2009. Jacob, Dee and my parents all came along to witness my
soiling enjoying myself as I climbed to 2000 ft in what was little more than a wheel barrow with wings.
I must say the experience was awesome. The controls of the Cesnna C-152 were rather simple in terms of going up and down and turning left and right. It was when the trainer cut the engine to show how the plane didn’t really need power to stay airborne that I began to feel the sweat running down my back.
In all honestly, he said I was remarkably calm and I did rather well at ‘flying’ it.
If I had the time (and the money) I would definitely be interested in having more lessons, but working for yourself offers around 2 free hours a year and those precious minutes are reserved for family time 🙂
Thanks again Dee, loved it 🙂 xx
Jacob being an aeroplane on the wall. New haircut makes him look 2 years older.

Obviously I knew what all the dials meant… honest
